Monday was the start of the East Coast Shellfish Growers Association’s annual “Walk on the Hill,” an event where Molluscan Shellfish Institute members and interested parties are given the chance to voice their concerns to the nation’s top legislators.

Those participating will speak later in the week with Congressional delegations about important shellfish industry issues including marketing, recalls and sustainability.

The week, kicking-off with a business meeting, also features a gala reception Wednesday evening.
